MINISTRY OF DIGITAL LAUNCHES NATIONAL PUBLIC SURVEY TO EMPOWER MALAYSIANS IN SHAPING DIGITAL FUTURE

PUTRAJAYA, 15 JULY 2025 – The Ministry of Digital today announced a nationwide public survey via the Rakyat Digital portal. This survey invites all Malaysians to share their views and needs on digital initiatives and national digital transformation. This effort shows the government's strong commitment to a whole-of-nation approach, ensuring digital policies are made with the people.

This public survey aligns with the Malaysia MADANI framework, which promotes inclusivity, sustainability, and shared prosperity. It supports the government's efforts to create people-centric, fair, and responsive digital policies.

The digital future of the nation belongs to all Malaysians. This public survey reflects the government’s commitment to inclusive governance, where every voice plays a vital role in shaping the nation’s digital landscape. Public participation in this survey is not merely a sharing of opinions, but also signifies their role as partners in shaping a digitally empowered Malaysia. This initiative aims to ensure that the country’s digital policies genuinely reflect the needs and aspirations of the people, and that the benefits of digital transformation are equitably experienced by all.

By gathering direct citizen feedback, this initiative will shape concrete actions for the mid-term review of MyDIGITAL Aspiration, ensuring future strategies are inclusive, resilient, and truly reflect the diverse needs and aspirations of society.

Listening to the People: Ensuring Policies Reflect Real Needs

A core principle of MADANI governance is to listen and respond to the rakyat's voice. Through this survey, the Ministry aims to understand ideas on:

• Digital access and connectivity challenges for the public and industry;

• Digital literacy gaps and training needs, and;

• Risks and opportunities of emerging technologies.

These insights will guide policy improvements and the development of initiatives that truly address real-world situations, especially for underserved communities. The survey asks for postcode information, used only for broad, non-personal demographic analysis, without identifying individuals.

Encouraging Widespread Participation and Data Security

The Ministry urges all Malaysians, regardless of age, background, or location, to take part in this crucial survey. Every citizen's contribution helps create Malaysia's digital future, ensuring no one is left behind as the nation moves towards a more connected and innovative society.

The survey is available online in Bahasa Melayu and English for broad participation. The Ministry guarantees all collected data is handled with the highest standards of privacy and security.

This survey is a vital step towards creating policies that genuinely reflect the aspirations and needs of the rakyat, in line with the vision of a prosperous, just, and digitally enabled Malaysia. The Ministry of Digital looks forward to strong public support and active participation for this initiative's success.

Take part today and be the voice that shapes Malaysia’s digital journey. Visit survey.rakyatdigital.gov.my to share your views.
