Distinguished Guests,
Media Representatives,
Ladies and Gentlemen.
Greetings of Unity and Salam Malaysia MADANI.
1. First and foremost, allow me to extend my sincere appreciation to everyone present here today. I am deeply honoured that we are able to gather together for this very meaningful occasion – the Launching Ceremony of the 3rd Sentuhan MADANI Kiosk here at 1 Utama Shopping Centre.
SENTUHAN MADANI KIOSK: A DIGITAL SOLUTION FOR THE PEOPLE
Ladies and Gentlemen,
2. In the Government’s efforts to deliver efficient services to the people, inspired by The Honourable Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, Chief Secretary to the Government, the Kiosk Sentuhan MADANI was introduced. This kiosk serves as a digital platform for the rakyat (people) to conveniently access a wide range of government services in a single, user-friendly location.
3. The first kiosk was launched by the Right Honourable Prime Minister on 9 January 2025 at Alamanda, Putrajaya, while the second kiosk was launched on 13 March at KL Sentral, Malaysia’s largest transit hub.
4. Today, we gather to witness the launch of the third Sentuhan MADANI Kiosk, this time at 1 Utama Shopping Centre – a strategic location that attracts a large number of visitors.
SELECTION OF 1 UTAMA
5. The selection of 1 Utama as the location for the Sentuhan MADANI Kiosk is indeed a highly strategic move. 1 Utama is one of the largest and busiest shopping centres in Malaysia, attracting a high daily footfall comprising people from all walks of life.
6. With its easily accessible location for visitors from the Klang Valley and surrounding areas, this kiosk has the potential to benefit an even greater number of people.
7. In addition, the extended operating hours of the shopping centre – including weekends and public holidays – offer greater flexibility for the people to manage government-related matters without being restricted to regular office hours.
8. This approach is also in line with the Government’s aspiration to bring public services closer to the people.
ADVANTAGES AND ENHANCEMENTS OF THE SENTUHAN MADANI KIOSK
9. Today, more than 100 services offered by Government agencies and the private sector can be accessed through the Sentuhan MADANI Kiosk. These services include applications for official documents, account openings, and bill payments.
10. Since its introduction in January, the Sentuhan MADANI Kiosk has also received strong interest from agencies wishing to participate and support this Government initiative. At KL Sentral, the first kiosk by 5 Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB) was introduced, while here at 1 Utama, TM Unifi is participating for the first time, thereby expanding the range of services available to the people.
11.Among the enhancements introduced at the Sentuhan MADANI Kiosk are:
a. Expanding the range of services to include zakat payments and top-up facilities;
b. Introducing additional payment methods, including debit card transactions; and
c. Ensuring that transactions can still be completed even during system disruptions. 12.These enhancements are aimed at ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for users, as evidenced by the growing utilisation of the Sentuhan MADANI Kiosk.
13.Since its launch in January, the Sentuhan MADANI Kiosk at Alamanda has recorded an increase in users of more than 40%, from 4,600 users in January to 6,600 users in March. At KL Sentral, the Sentuhan MADANI Kiosk recorded 5,000 users within its first month of operation. This clearly demonstrates the effectiveness of this kiosk initiative.
14. In this regard, it is recommended that more government agencies and private sector entities explore the potential of offering additional services through the kiosk. This matter deserves serious consideration, given that kiosks participating in the Sentuhan MADANI Kiosk initiative — such as those operated by the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), Pos Malaysia, and TM Unifi — have the capability to integrate 6 third-party agency services into their operating systems.
COLLABORATION ACROSS ALL PARTIES – WHOLE-OF-NATION APPROACH
Ladies and Gentlemen,
15.The successful implementation of the Sentuhan MADANI Kiosk initiative would not have been possible without the close cooperation of various parties. Therefore, I would like to express my highest appreciation to:
a. Unit Pantau MADANI, the principal coordinator of this initiative;
b. 1 Utama, our corporate partner, for providing the kiosk location at 1 Utama Shopping Centre; and
c. The kiosk supervising agencies involved, namely EPF (KWSP), ASNB, MyDigital ID, TM Unifi, Pos Malaysia, and JPJ; as well as our telecommunications partners, TM One and DNB, for providing internet connectivity and 5G services to support this kiosk.
16.The successful launch of the third kiosk within such a short period clearly demonstrates the effectiveness of the whole-of-nation approach — where the public and private sectors work closely together for the benefit of the people.
CLOSING REMARKS
Distinguished Guests,
17.The Sentuhan MADANI Kiosk initiative has received significant attention and highly positive responses from Malaysians. This reflects the fact that the initiative truly adds value by enabling the people to access government services more easily, efficiently, and in a user-friendly manner.
18.The MADANI Government is also committed to expanding the Sentuhan MADANI Kiosk initiative nationwide. This commitment is in line with the principles of Malaysia MADANI, particularly in enhancing the well-being of the people through innovation and sustainable services.
19. In conclusion, I would once again like to extend my highest appreciation to all parties involved — whether at the ministerial, agency, private sector, or technical levels — for their strong commitment and close cooperation in realizing the Government’s aspiration to enhance the delivery of public services in the country.
20.With that, it is my great pleasure to officially launch the Sentuhan MADANI Kiosk at 1 Utama Shopping Centre, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
Thank you.
