Distinguished Guests and Esteemed Members of PIKOM, Ladies and Gentlemen.

Salam Perpaduan, Salam Malaysia MADANI and a very good Evening.

1. Thank you to the organiser for having me at tonight’s event.

2. The National Tech Association of Malaysia, better known as PIKOM, has always been a vital voice for our nation's dynamic tech sector. That voice is important, because it allows us to hear the views, ideas, and challenges faced by our digital community. Your input is a crucial component of our policy-making process.

3. At the same time, PIKOM has long honoured success stories within the industry. But tonight’s awards ceremony is beyond the trophies. It is about recognising innovators, leaders, and changemakers who are shaping Malaysia’s digital future.

4. Thanks to these innovators, leaders, and their peers, our digital economy continues to grow from strength to strength. Malaysia’s digital economy is certainly on track to contribute 25.5% to our nation’s GDP by the end of this year.

5. This is a testament to the confidence that global investors and local champions have in our digital future.

6. In just the second quarter of this year, digital investments surged by over 125%, with commitments exceeding RM42 billion. These commitments are creating tens of thousands of high-skilled jobs.

7. We are also witnessing the rapid rise of data centers, AI hubs, and cloud adoption. They are all powered by investments from global technology leaders and supported by Malaysia’s strategic position in ASEAN.

8. Yet, with this growth comes great responsibility. Last year alone, Malaysia faced thousands of cybersecurity incidents, resulting in losses exceeding RM1.5 billion. That is why the government has launched the Malaysia Cyber Security Strategy 2025–2030, which focuses on critical infrastructure protection, strong governance, innovation, and public awareness.

9. Malaysia is also proud to be home to the International Multilateral Partnership Against Cyber Threats (IMPACT) in Cyberjaya, a UN-backed alliance uniting over 150 countries. This global recognition underscores our leadership in cybersecurity and our readiness to collaborate across borders.

MADANI GOVERNMENT LISTENS TO YOU

Ladies and Gentlemen,

10. Our digital journey is marked by key events, such as the Smart City Expo Kuala Lumpur (SCEKL2025), SmartGov Malaysia 2025 and Malaysia Digital Xceleration (MDX) Summit, all taking place next week (Sept 17-19) at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The 3rd CyberDSA meanwhile is scheduled for later this month. These events are part of Malaysia’s journey to becoming an AI nation. 4

11. The recent launch of the National Cloud Computing Policy underscores our commitment to building a strong, secure, and sovereign digital infrastructure. This policy provides clarity and direction for both local and international players, ensuring Malaysia remains competitive, resilient, and trusted as a regional digital hub.

12. So yes, this MADANI Government has heard your views loud and clear. As such, all the on-going and upcoming initiatives, programmes and policies are designed to ensure the industry stands to benefit in a transparent, healthy, and secured environment. This is on top of the various laws introduced and amended.

13. While we cheer the voices of the innovators and leaders in the industry, let’s also remember that rakyat must always stand to benefit. As such, I urge all of you to join forces by ensuring no one is left behind in our quest to transform into a digital nation.

14. I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate PIKOM. Year after year, you have stood at the forefront of representing industry voices, advocating for growth, and bridging collaboration between government, businesses, and academia. Tonight’s gathering and these awards are a reflection of that tireless effort.

DIGITAL FUTURE FOR ALL

Ladies and Gentlemen,

15. Tonight’s award winners — whether in cybersecurity, cloud, ESG, digital infrastructure, or start-ups — remind us that excellence is not an option; it is our responsibility.

16. As we chart the course ahead, let us continue to invest in talent, secure our digital frontiers, and innovate responsibly with AI and cloud computing. And, above all, let us ensure the benefits of digitalisation uplift every Malaysian, in every community. I would like to stress once again - no one should ever be left behind in our digital quest.

17. Congratulations to the winners. May your achievements tonight inspire many more to push boundaries and create impact.

18. Let’s continue to champion Made in Malaysia, Made by Malaysians.

Thank You.
