THE DIGITAL REVOLUTION PUBLIC SECTOR: PPDSA & MYGDX EMPOWERING CITIZEN TRANSFORMATION
KUALA LUMPUR, 10 FEBRUARY 2026 – The Ministry of Digital today called upon all government agencies and departments to synergize in driving the public sector's digital transformation through the implementation of the Public Sector Data Digitalization Policy (PPDSA) and the expansion of the Malaysian Government Central Data Exchange (MyGDX) platform, led by the National Digital Department (JDN).
Embracing the theme "Digital Automation through Technological Advancement" (D.A.T.A), the launch of both the policy and the platform officiated by the Minister of Digital, Gobind Singh Deo today is highly significant. It demonstrates the Ministry’s proactive commitment as the leader of the national digitalization agenda in enhancing the efficiency of public service delivery.
PPDSA
PPDSA was specifically developed to address the risks of inconsistency in data governance and information misalignment across government agencies, which subsequently affects data integrity and the quality of critical decision-making at the highest levels. New standards are introduced, focusing on infrastructure as well as emphasizing the authenticity and reliability of shared data, alongside long-term system sustainability.
The success of this policy paves the way for the leveraging of Agentic AI technology, supported by a workforce of competent and digitally skilled civil servants.
MyGDX
MyGDX is being expanded to enhance existing systems across all government agencies, involving the collection, matching, and verification of data. Manual work processes, physical document references, and fragmented information (data silos) are being transitioned to an integrated digital system that enables real-time access from anywhere, coupled with security guarantees for the stored personal data.
Through strategic collaboration since its launch in December 2023, MyGDX has been utilized by 81 government agencies, comprising 51 data-providing agencies and 23 data-consuming agencies across 49 integrated systems. With over 65 million Application Programming Interface (API) transactions recorded, the platform has proven successful in facilitating the sharing of critical data, including civil servant profiles, Higher Education Institution (IPT) student information, passport checks, OKU verification status, as well as license and vehicle registration details.
The Ministry of Digital remains committed to realizing its vision and mission, anchored by robust bilateral support from across the public sector. In line with the Malaysia MADANI core values specifically Innovation and Trust the Ministry will continue to empower talent and safeguard the people’s trust as the foundation of a digital government, while simultaneously supporting the aspiration "Towards an AI Nation 2030”.
