MYGDX: BREAKING DOWN BUREAUCRATIC WALLS FOR DATA INTEGRITY AND RAPID PUBLIC SERVICES

PUTRAJAYA, 5 FEBRUARY 2026 – The Ministry of Digital urges all government agencies and departments to provide full commitment in strengthening data sharing through the Malaysian Government Central Data Exchange (MyGDX) platform. This inter-agency data connectivity is a strategic move to drive the nation’s digitalization agenda and intensify the transformation of Government service delivery.

The Launching Ceremony of the Public Sector Data Digitalization Policy (PPDSA) and the Expansion of MyGDX on 10 February 2026 carries the theme "Digital Automation through technological advancement" (D.A.T.A.), serving as a key catalyst in overcoming various bureaucratic pain points for the benefit and well-being of every Malaysian.

Overcoming the Challenges of 'Data Silos' and Manual Processes

In the pursuit of becoming a developed nation, the public sector still faces technical challenges that require collective solutions through smart partnerships. Embracing the spirit of the D.A.T.A. theme, data sharing via MyGDX is designed to end the practice of manual data collection and verification across disparate agency systems, which currently burdens public officials.

The previous "data silo" issue not only resulted in inconsistent information between agencies but also increased the risk of human error in the data-matching process. Consequently, the verification of eligibility and the approval of applications became time-consuming. This reliance on physical documentation indirectly limited access to critical real-time data for modern management, while simultaneously making it difficult for the public to track their application status comprehensively.

Achievements and MyGDX Integration

In this regard, the Ministry of Digital calls upon departmental leadership to translate these challenges into significant transformation opportunities. As of early this year, MyGDX has shown encouraging performance with the involvement of 81 agencies, comprising 51 data providers and 23 data consumers across 49 integrated systems. With over 23 million API transactions recorded, the platform has proven successful in facilitating the sharing of critical data, including civil servant profiles (JPA), IPT student information (KPT), passport verification (JIM), OKU verification status (JKM), MUET result checks (MPM), as well as license and vehicle information (JPJ).

Through this smart partnership, civil servants can shift from repetitive clerical tasks and data coordination to efforts that empower high-impact service delivery for the people.

Future Commitment

The success of the D.A.T.A. theme in driving MyGDX will provide significant benefits to the people. Through the implementation of the "Once-Only Principle," citizens will no longer be burdened with submitting physical documents repeatedly, as data integration enables information to be shared seamlessly between agencies.

Government processes will now become faster, more efficient, and transparent. Transactions can be carried out entirely digitally and remotely, where citizens receive more responsive services with guaranteed personal data protection and a high level of security.

The Ministry of Digital remains committed to supporting all government departments throughout this transition phase by empowering digital autonomous technology. Now is the time for us to work hand-in-hand to tear down data bureaucracy walls to build a government that is more efficient, modern, and trusted, in line with the vision of elevating the nation’s digital standing on the global stage.
